How does your company measure up?

This questionnaire is based on Synopsis’ communication model, validated through research over the last 6 years with over 120 US and UK organisations. Use it to help you identify the strengths and weaknesses of your internal communication.

For each statement, select one of three options, ‘fully’ (+1), ‘partially’ (0) or ‘not really’ (-1).

This healthcheck will then give you a score for each best practice element, and an overall score for your internal communication. See our communication model for more information on how you can improve internal communication.

For each section
A score of 7 or more shows an area of strength
A score of 4 or less indicates a weakness in your internal communication practice

Overall
A score of 50 or above shows that your internal communication is in good shape. You should now look at whether you can build more ambitiously on these foundations, how well linked your different communication activities are, and whether they are mutually reinforcing.

A score between 30 and 50 shows that communication is not adding as much value as it could. You should focus your attention on the elements where you scored lowest.

A score of 30 or less indicates that your communication practices are a long way off best practice. You need to take urgent steps to improve.
